Common Questions

How often should I book a grooming appointment?
Most dogs benefit from a professional groom every four to six weeks. Longer, curlier coats need the shorter end of that range; short-coated breeds can stretch to eight weeks. Consistency matters more than perfect timing.
Is it okay to shave a double-coated dog in summer?
Generally, no. Double coats insulate in both directions -- keeping your dog warm in winter and cool in summer. A thorough deshed is almost always the better option. Shaving can permanently alter the coat texture.
How long will my dog's appointment take?
Most full grooms take two to four hours. You'll get an estimated time at drop-off. Samara will call when your dog is ready.
My dog is anxious -- can they still be groomed?
Absolutely. Let Samara know before the appointment and she'll adjust her approach. Sometimes a first visit covers just a bath and nail trim to build positive associations before progressing to the full groom.
What age should I bring my puppy for their first groom?
Between 12 and 16 weeks -- shortly after their initial vaccinations. The first visit is less about the haircut and more about building positive associations with being handled and bathed.
